How do you take care of Abulil jewelry?
ABULIL jewelry is made to last a lifetime — if properly cared for and maintained.
All of our pieces are made of solid 14-karat gold — yellow, rose, or white, with various finishes (shiny, matte, or brushed). This makes them more durable and long-lasting than gold-plated jewelry, but also than solid 18-karat gold, which is a softer material.
To maintain the shine and integrity of your precious jewelry, here's what's important to do to keep it in impeccable condition:
TO DO
- Store jewelry in its original box or another special jewelry box, preferably lined with soft material.
- Wear jewelry with care for its construction, without subjecting it to mechanical stress, making sure it does not cling to other materials or scratch other accessories.
- Be especially careful when closing fixed bracelets: they must be handled with great care and placed on the hand through the narrowest section of the wrist. Some closure mechanisms on fixed bracelets can break or deform under pressure or improper handling.
- The simplest rule for wearing precious jewelry: always put it on last, after you've dressed, applied makeup, and perfumed yourself; and always take it off first when you get home. This routine will help you keep it away from factors that can affect its shine or integrity.
TO AVOID
- Do not wear jewelry during household activities of any kind.
- Do not wear jewelry during sports of any kind.
- Do not expose jewelry to chemicals, especially chlorine or sulfur-containing substances, perfumes, hairspray, skin creams, salt water, or pool water.
Cleaning and maintenance
Like any beloved object, gold jewelry needs to be cared for to remain in optimal condition.
- We recommend annual visits to the jeweler for professional examination and cleaning — or even more often for jewelry that is worn very often.
- You can also clean gold jewelry at home, with a soft cloth and lukewarm water, optionally with a non-detergent soap.
- Never clean jewelry with chemical solutions or abrasive objects.
Defects and repairs
For defects that are not due to manufacturing defects and are not covered by the warranty (wear and tear due to improper use, scratches, broken chains, etc.), we can provide repair services for a fee.
